GirlsWhoML was started in 2021 by three machine learning PhD students at University of Oxford who were unsettled by the lack of female representation in the field. They developed a learning programme that become the foundation for GirlsWhoML and expanded the programme across the UK universities. What started as a small initiative has now become a global movement to build an ecosystem that helps women and those who identify as non-binary enter ML and AI through classroom learning and hands-on practice.
