ABOUT US

Building a global
ecosystem for women where Machine Learning is accessible and relatable through participatory learning
and hands-on training
GirlsWhoML was started in 2021 by three machine learning PhD students at the University of Oxford who were unsettled by the lack of female representation in the field. They developed a learning programme that became the foundation for GirlsWhoML and expanded the programme across UK universities. What started as a small initiative has now become a global movement to build an ecosystem that helps women and those who identify as non-binary enter ML and AI through classroom learning and hands-on practice.
